Rose Oil: The Fairy Godmother
Pixie dust and wands granting wishes.
If any oil can make magic happen, it’s this one. She’s bubbly, kind, and in the business of turning your mundane daily into Cinderella’s night at the ball. Tired, aging mama? Not anymore! She wants to transport you into a world of dreams come true and singing mice who make you beautiful dresses. Hmm…I wonder what would happen if we rubbed some rose oil on a pumpkin?
Rose oil has been used on the skin for thousands of years. An Arab physician was responsible for the first distilling of this beautiful flower and wrote an entire book on the benefits of rose water pressed from the rose leaves. It has commonly been used as an aphrodisiac because of its intoxicating fragrance. Emotionally it has been used to uplift the spirits and address stored insecurity.
It takes about 5,000 lbs. of rose petals to distill 1 lb. of essential oil (about 2 cups).
I remember when I got rose oil for the very first time and I decided to wear it frequently. I was truly surprised at the emotional benefit I felt.
There is something absolutely magnetic about someone whose frequency is one of health and vibrancy.
“The frequencies of essential oils are between 52-550 MHz (some are unmeasured). Lower frequency oils resonate with the bodily systems that have those frequencies, such as bones and joints, and, thus, administer healing vibrations to those systems.
Measurements on a human body found that a healthy person has a frequency around 62-68 MHz. When a person’s frequency dips to 58 MHz, cold symptoms can manifest.
Flu symptoms start at 57 MHz, Candida at 55MHz, and Epstein Barr syndrome at 52 MHz. Cancer can begin when the body falls below 42 MHz. The process of dying begins at 25 MHz.” – Dr. David Stewart, Healing Oils of the Bible
As you can see, frequencies are not some out there fairy tale or insanity but actual, measurable science. And Rose Oil coming in at 320 MHz suddenly seems like quite a sound investment even though it is precious and expensive. Perhaps it might not seem like such a stretch to liken it to fairy dust now?
Still feel the price tag of the individual oil is too hefty? (It really is worth it so save up!)
You do have other options! Because of its incredible benefits for the skin, Rose Oil is a primary ingredient in Rose Ointment which is an excellent replacement for petroleum jellies and other ointments with unwanted ingredients. Because of its emotional benefits you can find it in several emotional blends such as: Awaken, Egyptian Gold, Envision, Forgiveness, Gathering, Gentle Baby, Harmony, Highest Potential, Humility, Joy, SARA, Trauma Life, and White Angelica.
Application:
– Apply topically for skin benefits, helping the skin to restore to more of its natural state. It is wise to dilute because of the potent power of this oil.
– Add to diffuser or palms and inhale deeply to uplift emotionally and stabilize emotions.
– Add to beauty products or roller blends so that a little oil can go a long way and still give you amazing benefits.
Rose Oil – Emotions
An emotional component to our beauty regimen is self-image.
In general, women are absolutely the harshest judges of our own bodies.
We are very afraid of not being good enough for someone else’s unhindered love, time, or attention.
Because we’ve felt not good enough, betrayed, looked down on, criticized, unlovable, or ashamed, we begin to put up barriers emotionally and spiritually. Those inner vows about not allowing ourselves to be humiliated or ashamed quickly age our bodies…and not gracefully. This leads to a lack of trusting ourselves to make good decisions in relationships, specifically in becoming vulnerable. Yes, a trust issue starts with yourself. Not trusting others is a secondary issue.
You know how three way light bulbs have the low light, normal light, and then the bright setting?
Rose oil is like that highest output of the three way light, except really, it’s like adding a fourth setting that feels like having the sun shining straight out of the lamp! When you use it, it only takes a little to change a lot of your brainwaves and emotions
IF you are prepared to use it with intention. You can come up with your own ways to add awareness as you apply your oils, whether you’re dabbing them on like perfume, applying them to your feet, etc.
One of the most impactful ways I have incorporated oils is in applying lotions and massage oils. It’s the opposite of negative self-talk, because when you apply something valuable and pure to your skin in a gentle way, you’re communicating to your body that you appreciate it, and you’re giving it a break from your own criticism. So that’s my challenge for your awareness: whatever you do to apply Rose or a blend with Rose, give yourself a BREAK while you do it!
Activation:
This is a way to incorporate Rose with moisturizing, which will have the dual effect of helping to release stored emotions while also supporting the youthful appearance of your skin! Bam!
– Add 1-2 drops Rose oil to a bit of Lavender Lotion, Genesis Lotion, or one of the awesome Young Living massage oil blends in your hand.
-Apply the lotion to the arms and chest (and wherever else desired, this is the specific area for this emotional release).
– Focus on the word “Trust” ( try to push past trust issues that come to mind concerning others to deal to your trusting yourself, it is buried somewhere in there).
– Repeat the words “I am in tune with my direction” until they sink in for the day.
Remember that oils have the most effect when used with intention. Tune in when you are applying them, and think about their benefits, and what you can let go of today to make room for more energy, more joy, and more life in your body.

Having an infant in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) can cause significant stress and anxiety in mothers and fathers. A placebo-controlled clinical study evaluated the effects of inhaling rose essential oil with mothers of premature infants in the NICU.
Mothers inhaled rose essential oil (diluted to 10%) for 5 to 10 minutes over ten consecutive nights. Anxiety significant reduced in the rose group when compared to the control (standard care only) suggesting that inhaling rose essential oil is an effective and noninvasive way to decrease stress/anxiety in mothers with children in the NICU.
